Frequently Asked Questions

  • What sets us apart?
Photography and adventure are our speciality, as such, we cater directly to the needs of photographers who want to venture into remote, seldom photographed locations. In addition to our exhilarating group excursions, we also offer single or multi-day custom experiences.
  • What is a Photography Excursion?
As photographers catering to the photographers, we get you to the best locations at the optimal times of day to capture the best light. We offer in-field photo instruction, assisting with compositions and helping you master the technical aspects of photography.
  • What's the experience level?
Beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome and we guarantee an epic experience full of adventure and great times!
  • How difficult are the excursions?
Levels of difficulty vary greatly depending on the type of excursion. We typically operate in remote desert locations where numerous environmental hazards exist. It is recommended that all participants are of average physical fitness with no serious mobility or balance challenges, as terrain can be uneven. Depending on the location, 1-4 miles of hiking may be required. Please refer to the specific workshop for details.
  • Who do I contact for cancellations?
If you must cancel a reservation, contact Capture Photo Excursions via email as soon as possible. Email us at hello@capturephotoexcursions.com.

Certain workshops may have cancellation terms that vary from those listed above. These terms and conditions will be clearly stated on the tour webpage.
  • Cancellations due to weather.
In the event inclement weather or other occurrences beyond our control keep us from accessing our primary destinations, Capture Photo Excursions reserves the right to modify the itinerary as required. No refunds will be given due to unforeseen circumstances outside our ability to adapt.

  • What type of camera equipment do I need?
A DSLR or Mirrorless camera with one or more detachable lenses, sturdy tripod and backpack for your camera gear are essential. Do keep in mind that gear recommendations vary depending on the type of workshop and will be clearly communicated prior to every excursion.

  • Is transportation provided?
Yes! Transportation in our well equipped 4-wheel drive vehicles is included on all tours and workshops once we are on location. Transportation to the workshop location is the responsibility of the participant. Leave the difficult driving to us and concentrate on your photography.
  • Are there Astrophotography oportunities?
Milky Way photography is one of our specialties! With some of the darkest skies in the country right here in our backyard, we welcome the opportunity to help you plan an astrophotography excursion!
