Our instructors have years of experience and enjoy sharing their knowledge. Together, we’ll explore the park’s iconic locations during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset, chase the interplay of light and shadow across the rugged peaks, and learn techniques to bring your creative vision to life.

Itinerary

Our exact itinerary will be kept very flexible to account for changing weather conditions, varying lake levels and group interest. This is simply an example of what you can expect.

Meet at the Jackson Hole Lodge in Wyoming at 1PM on Thursday, June 12th, 2025.

​

Afternoon: Arrival and check-in at the designated meeting point. Meet your instructors and fellow participants for a warm welcome and orientation session. Equipment from Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fuji will be available for setup and testing. 

​

Evening: Head out for your first photo session. Capture the Tetons reflected in the Snake River during the golden hour and sunset. Learn foundational techniques for landscape photography. 

 

Night: We will return to accommodations after a full day of learning new techniques and capturing stunning photos . Optional night photography session to capture the full moon highlighted by the mountain range (conditions permitting).

Logistics

Plan to arrive at the Jackson Hole Lodge prior to 1PM on June 12, 2025.

There are several regional airports around the Jackson Hole area.

The closest international airport is Salt Lake City (appx 4 ½ hour drive). You will need to rent a car, or take public transportation to Jackson. Carpooling with fellow participants following a similar schedule could also be an option. The workshop concludes after sunrise and a group breakfast on June 15th. Plan your return travel any time that afternoon or evening.

All meals are included, featuring hearty breakfast, lunches and delicious dinners from local culinary artists.

Snacks and alcoholic beverages are not covered with the provided meals. Please advise us of any dietary restrictions or food allergies upon booking so we can prepare accordingly.

We are an Authorized Permittee of Grand Teton National Park. Our instructors are both CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified to ensure your safety and well-being.

​

​All participants should be in good physical condition, free of mobility challenges, balance issues and are comfortable hiking 2 miles per day.

​​

Be prepared for any type of weather. Daytime highs could reach into the 70’s & 80’s with chilly nights and sunrises. Teton Territory weather is very unpredictable, and we could experience strong winds, rain, thunderstorms, and much cooler temperatures.

Accommodations

Participants will stay at the stunning Jackson Lake Lodge.

 

All meals are included, featuring hearty breakfast, lunches and delicious dinners from local culinary artists.

 

Participants are encouraged to bring personal gear; however, some premium demo gear will be provided during the workshop.

Recommended Camera Gear

  • Sturdy tripod that can support the heavier weight of long lenses.

  • Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera body.

  • Wide angle lens in the 16-35 range or wider, and f2.8 or faster for night photography.

  • Mid-range zoom in the 24-70 or 24-105 range.

  • Telephoto lens in the 100-400 or 600mm range.

  • Circular polarizing filters for your wide-angle and mid-range lenses.  ND filters could be useful for long exposures.

  • Cleaning supplies, extra batteries, and extra memory cards. Don’t forget the battery charger and cords!

  • Remote cord for your camera

  • Headlamp.

  • Weather protection for your gear in the form of a backpack cover.

  • Binoculars.

  • Spotting scope.

  • Comfortable backpack for hiking with your camera gear and tripod

  • Sturdy hiking footwear.

  • Hiking socks and long pants.

  • Several changes of clothes.

  • Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Sun Hat.

  • Rain jacket and warm fleece underlayers. 

  • Hat and gloves.

  • Water bladder and reusable water bottle(s).

  • Laptop to back up your photos or work on post-processing.

  • An extra pair of footwear in the event you get wet and muddy.
